Coach Berry started coaching at Alverno ten years ago with the Cross Country Team , the team has won the league championship six times. The JV team won the league JV championship 3 out of 5 times. The team continued to grow in strength and size with the 2007-2008 team consisting of 24 runners.  
  For the last seven years, in August, the team participates in a seven-day running camp by the beach at Sycamore Canyon.  This helps prepare the team for competition in September.  The runners enjoy camping, going to the beach and running on the many trails in the Santa Monica Mountains. 

Athletes train to run three mile competitions along outdoor trails.
