Campus Ministry sponsors yearly retreats for all classes of Alverno High School. These are opportunities for the girls to grow closer as a whole class, to each other as individuals, and to God.
Freshman Year
During their freshman year, the students partake in a one-day on-campus retreat that is held in the Villa. There, they participate in ice-breaker games, listen to talks provided by members of Campus Ministry, and reflect on their experiences as brand new high school students.
Sophomore Year
During their sophomore year, the students partake in a one-day off-campus retreat. The students play games that focus on friendships, trust, and building relationships. They also listen to talks that are provided by members of Campus Ministry and usually attend a liturgical service.
Junior Year
During their junior year, the students partake in a two-day, one-night off-campus retreat. The students have intense discussions about growing up and about the trials of life, and they also partake in games and activities that bring them closer together as a class. Members of Campus Ministry give talks that deal with topics that are important and relative to the students.
Senior Year
During their senior year, the students partake in a three-day, two-night off-campus retreat. The students use this opportunity to come together for one final time before graduating and moving on with life. Intense, emotional discussions are held, and activities are facilitated by members of Campus Ministry. It is widely considered an important milestone in the journey of an Alverno student’s high school career.
